Our Uganda Friday: MishMash

MishMash is an arts event that has been happening in Kampala for 5 months now and in that time it has grown tremendously in it's popularity and significance.
"MishMash is a dynamic, energetic fusion of art, culture and the things that make life worth living." Located in Naguru, Kampala, MishMash brings together Uganda's most inspiring artists in a wide range of fields including painting, sculpture, dance, fashion, music, print-making, and photography. The last Sunday of every month, MishMash presents a feast of Ugandan art & culture at its garden gallery."

On Sunday, 31st July, 2011, MishMash is back with an exciting programme. Most notably, 3 of Uganda's leading artists, Edison Mugalu, Henry Mzili Mujunga and Enoch Mukiibi, are going to unveil new works or art.

The programme for the day will be;

THREE OF UGANDA'S MOST INSPIRATIONAL PAINTERS
Edison Mugalu, Henry Mzili Mujunga and Enoch Mukiibi will be displaying their brand new works for the first time.

UGANDA NATIONAL CONTEMPORARY DANCE
Uganda's premier contemporary dance troupe will perform a collection of pulsating performances.

LIVE MUSIC
Janzi Band will be playing their unique UgaAfro fusion by mixing Uganda's traditional instruments such as the dungu, akogo, endongo, endigidi with the guitars and keyboard.

ORANGE MISHMASH MARKET
A fantastic selection of Uganda's unique artisans

KIDS ART CLASSES
Ro Kerango will once again guiding children in creating wonderful pieces of their own.

FOOD & DRINK ALL DAY
Abalimi Catering will delight your culinary senses, using fresh farm produce in a mouth-watering menu. If you don't come hungry, you'll be missing out.
