Technology Meet Africa is a Facebook/YouTube exhibition of Ugandan art. Starting on the 18th of August, 2011, Technology Meet Africa is in Uganda being curated by one of Awava's favourite atists, Wasswa Donald.
Mu Katanga Rooftop Photo Exhibition is a result of the collaboration between the residents of Katanga (one of Kampala's biggest slums) and the second Bayimba photography workshop.
We have talked a bit about the BayimbaCulturalFestival of the Arts on this blog and starting last year, with the help of Dutch-born photographer Andrea Stultiens, they hold a photography workshop that attracts both amateur and proffessional photographers from all over Uganda.
This year, along with the exhibition being shown at the Festival itself between 16th and 18th September, the photographs will be shown in the slum where they have been taken. If you are in Kampala this weekend, make your way to Busia Zone Katanga, Bwaise Road in Wandegeya below Super Oil Fueling Station and behind Breadt Girls Hostel. Call 0777653367 if you can't find it.
For the month of July, Awava's monthly Giveaway is the lovely Mukwano earrings. Below are the list of entrants for July.
